Richard Sinclair, CORBC founder and CEO, a 35 year industry veteran
On February 1, 2009; Richard Sinclair opened Correspondent Business Credit, an alternative asset based lending company with a mission to continue the tradition of local people making local decisions to help local companies through challenging times.
Richard began his banking and finance career at Equitable Bank in Maryland and, with increasing levels of responsibility, remained with the Bank through and beyond the merger with Maryland National Bank (now Bank of America).
In 1992, he was hired by Presidential Financial Corporation. During his tenure, he rose to the position of Executive Vice President of the parent company, and President of Presidential Financial Corporation of the Chesapeake and Midwest. He oversaw a team that provided asset based lending services, including origination, underwriting and collateral and client management, to clients in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. When Presidential Financial adopted a new strategic direction in January 2008 in which back-office and sales management functions were brought into the corporate headquarters in Tucker, GA, Richard’s position, among others, was eliminated.
A graduate of N.C. Wesleyan College and the Maryland Banking School, Richard has been a resident of Maryland his entire life.
“I believe in fair deals and win - win - win results. Our clients will have the financing tools available to grow successfully – win. Our referral sources will have an alternative that is completely local, directly involved and able to take action – win. Our reputation and future is built one referral at a time – win. With more than one billion dollars in accounts receivable financed over the last seventeen years, I have financed hundreds of small businesses that could not obtain traditional financing. 100% of my clients have been referrals and I am proud of that trust.”
